Dale Taylor, RPh.
Owner/Lead Pharmacist

Dale Taylor is the owner of Mercy Plaza Pharmacy, Mercy Plaza Respiratory and Mercy Plaza Long-Term Care, all located within Bakersfield, California.  Dale graduated from the University Of The Pacific School of Pharmacy in 1983. Shortly after, Dale began his career with Longs Drugs where he stayed for 15 years.

In 1997 Dale fulfilled his dream of providing more personalized patient care when he purchased Mercy Plaza Pharmacy.  Dale continues to give back to the community with the many services he provides, as well as the many charities he actively sponsors.

Dale was born and raised in Bakersfield, California where he currently resides with his wife Susan and their three children, Matthew, Jordan, and Michael.  When not working, Dale enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.

Penny Melton, Pharm.D.
Staff Pharmacist/Compounding Pharmacist

Penny graduated from The University Of The Pacific School Of Pharmacy in 1985.  She worked for a chain drug store for many years before deciding to change to a more family friendly atmosphere.  Penny has been working with Mercy Plaza Pharmacy since 2004.

In addition, Penny is a member of the California Pharmacists Association and has been certified in compounding techniques by Professional Compounding Centers Of America (PCCA).

When not working, Penny enjoys spending time with her family and reading.

Alison Bell, Pharm.D
Lead Pharmacist

Alison was born and raised in Bakersfield, California. After graduating from Highland High School, she attended Bakersfield College, CSUB, and finally the University of the Pacific.  Alison graduated in 1999 with a doctorate in pharmacy and began her career as a pharmacist with Longs Drugs.  After 3 years as the pharmacy manager at Longs she decided to change careers, which brought Alison to Mercy Plaza Pharmacy in the spring of 2004.

Alison is currently in charge of the daily operations for Mercy Plaza Long-term Care.

Erika Garcia, Pharm.D
Staff Pharmacist

Erika graduated from The University of California San Francisco in 2005. She has been with Mercy Plaza Pharmacy since 2001. Erika started working here as an intern Pharmacist and continued after graduation.

Erika is a member of American Pharmaceutical Association (AphA) and enjoys spending time with her husband and reading in her spare time.

Larry Renzi, RPh.
Staff Pharmacist

Larry Renzi graduated from the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy in 1949.  He went to work for a small pharmacy in Woodlake, California for 4 years.  Larry then moved to Visalia, California where he worked in another small independent pharmacy for 3 more years.  He moved to beautiful Bakersfield, California in 1952 where he worked at yet another independent pharmacy until 1963.  Larry then bought his own store, which he ran for 30 years until selling to Rite-Aid.  Larry worked for Rite-Aid for 2 years before joining the team of Mercy Plaza Pharmacy in 2001.

Larry enjoys cooking for friends and family in his spare time.
